Reflections on a life urban

Reflections on a life urban
A choice
Some are born here
Others migrate
Like myself
But why?
For the destitute asleep in our doorways?
For the congestion
The filth
We live the life urban
Expensive days
Sleepless nights
Forgetting the earth
Instead living in concrete
Instead living on top of each other
Packed in
Suffering
Suffocating
Some born here
Hoping to escape
Others trapped
By steel
By intersections
By life
By themselves
And myself
Stuck in place
In this place
This space
So crowded
Dirty
Dreams come here
Some dreams die
Some fulfilled
It keeps us waiting
Biding our time
In this urban hell
We choose to call home
